JW Anderson unveils new brand identity through craft-focused Miami pop-up during Art Week

JW Anderson has unveiled a new pop-up store in Miami, timed to coincide with the city’s Art Week, in partnership with luxury retailer The Webster. This event marks a significant milestone following a recent reinvention of the JW Anderson brand, which now reflects creative director Jonathan Anderson’s "utterly personal urge" to curate a new vision for the label.

The "new" JW Anderson identity centers on "a modern-day cabinet of curiosities," focusing on objects of elevated craftsmanship, curated fashion collections, homewares, and artisanal goods. The Miami pop-up represents the first regional showcase of this "newly reimagined world," serving as a key moment in the label’s US expansion by "reintroducing the brand to an extended audience." The pop-up is open until December 15th at 1220 Collins Avenue, Miami Fl, 33139.

Visitors to the pop-up will discover a collection that highlights meticulous craftsmanship and heritage materials. The fashion offering includes knitwear spun from fine yarns, Japanese-crafted denim developed with expert makers, and fold-over trousers inspired by archival designs. These garments utilize premium textiles such as Donegal tweed and Locharron pure new wool tartan. These "elevated" versions of classic garments, often featuring a connection to local makers, are displayed alongside objects crafted in collaboration with various artists and artisans.

The collection extends beyond apparel to include unique homewares and furniture. The selection features re-editions of Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s stools crafted in Scottish oak, Jason Mosseri’s Hope Spring Chairs, and ceramics by Akiko Hirai. Other curated items include Lucie Rie mugs, handmade Murano glassware, and traditional Welsh blankets. The store also offers hand-picked books, antique gardening tools, hand-forged nails, Houghton Hall Estate honey, and coffee-flavoured tea from Postcard Teas, all contributing to "extending the language of craftmanship" and presenting "heritage imagined through a contemporary lens."

The pop-up space itself was developed in collaboration with architects Sanchez Benton. According to the company, the design "embodies the design language of the brand," fostering "a dialogue with the handmade and expertly crafted" throughout the environment.
