Kenneth Cole Appoints New CEO as Brand Enters New Leadership Era
Kenneth Cole Productions has announced a significant leadership transition, ushering in a new era for the iconic American fashion brand. Jed Berger has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer and President, a move poised to drive the company's strategic vision and growth. This pivotal announcement marks a substantial evolution in the organization's structure and operational leadership.
Accompanying Berger's appointment is a broader realignment of executive roles, with founder Kenneth Cole transitioning to the position of Executive Chairman and Chief Creative Officer. In this capacity, Cole will continue to oversee the creative direction for both Kenneth Cole Productions and the Mental Health Coalition, an initiative he passionately champions. Cole expressed his confidence in the new structure, stating, "I am proud to announce the evolution of our organization—one that is built to meet the changing forces the world continues to offer. Innovation, in both product and purpose, has never been more important. I am confident that this next chapter will honor our roots while empowering this new team to evolve the brand and the business in bold, meaningful ways." His words underscore a commitment to both heritage and forward-thinking progress.
The leadership refresh extends to several other key positions. Emily Cole has been named Executive Vice President, Chief Product Officer, and Creative Director, taking charge of product design, styling, and overall strategy. Lauren Montemaro Kahn joins the team as Senior Vice President, Chief Commercial Officer, tasked with leading business development and cultivating partnerships across both domestic and international markets. Furthermore, Phillips McCarty has been appointed President of the Mental Health Coalition and will also serve as a member of the Kenneth Cole Advisory Board, reinforcing the brand's dedication to social impact.
Continuity is also a key aspect of this transition, with several established executives maintaining their crucial roles. Samantha Cohen will continue as Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing and Social Impact Officer, ensuring the brand's message and values resonate effectively. Renada Williams remains in her role as Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Chief People Officer, overseeing legal and human resources functions. David Edelman will continue to provide financial stewardship as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, ensuring stability and strategic financial management.
The company also took the opportunity to acknowledge the distinguished service of Sharon Seelig, who is retiring after more than 30 years with Kenneth Cole Productions. Her long-standing contributions have been instrumental to the brand's journey, and her dedication leaves a lasting legacy.
