Lemoine Promotes Two Veterans to Key Roles at Galeries Lafayette
Arthur Lemoine, the recently appointed Chief Executive Officer of the esteemed Parisian department store group Galeries Lafayette, has swiftly moved to strengthen the organisation's operational core. In a strategic move to enhance the group's efficiency and drive future growth, Lemoine has enlisted the expertise of two highly experienced senior executives within the company, entrusting them with elevated responsibilities.
The group officially announced on Tuesday the key appointments of Alexandre Liot and Alix Morabito to pivotal new positions, both reporting directly to CEO Arthur Lemoine. Alexandre Liot, a long-serving veteran of Galeries Lafayette since 1997, has steadily ascended through the ranks. His career highlights include leading the iconic Galeries Lafayette flagship Haussmann branch in Paris starting in 2018, followed by his promotion to Group COO in 2022. In his latest advancement, Liot has been named Deputy CEO in charge of Operations, solidifying his role as a crucial member of the executive committee.
Alix Morabito, another distinguished figure within the group, first joined Galeries Lafayette in 2005 as a womenswear buyer. Her career path also includes valuable external experience, having served as a buyer for the designer fashion range at local rival Printemps, and later taking charge of accessories and licensing at the renowned Parisian label Chloé. Morabito made a significant return to Galeries Lafayette in 2015 as Deputy Head of Menswear Purchasing. By 2022, she was promoted to Head of Purchasing for womenswear, lingerie, and childrenswear. Her new appointment sees her taking on the critical role of Head of Products and Purchasing, also earning her a well-deserved place on the executive committee.
Commenting on the strategic appointments, Arthur Lemoine expressed his enthusiasm in a press release. "Alexandre and Alix are both deeply passionate about retail and fashion, and throughout their impressive careers, they have consistently demonstrated a commitment to placing customers at the heart of their decisions," Lemoine stated. "I am immensely pleased to elevate their responsibilities, working alongside me within the executive committee, as we collectively embark on a new and exciting stage in the group's growth journey. Their promotions also send a strong signal that Galeries Lafayette is dedicated to fostering inspirational and committed leaders who are capable of contributing to the group for the long term."
Galeries Lafayette boasts a significant retail footprint, operating 57 department stores across France, including its globally recognised flagship location on Boulevard Haussmann in Paris. Of these, 19 stores are directly owned by the group, while 38 are managed by franchisees. Beyond its domestic market, the group is expanding its international presence, with 11 stores either currently existing or planned for future development, reflecting its ambitious growth strategy.
