Longines Opens First Soho Store Celebrating New York Style and Swiss Heritage
Longines, the esteemed Swiss watchmaker, recently announced a significant expansion of its retail footprint in New York City with the grand opening of its inaugural Soho store. This strategic move underscores the brand's commitment to strengthening its presence in key urban centers, marking a pivotal moment in its ongoing retail development strategy within the United States.
The new Longines boutique is strategically situated at 128 Spring Street, occupying an expansive 1,064 square feet. The design ethos of the store is a thoughtful fusion of contemporary elegance and timeless heritage. It masterfully blends architectural elements characteristic of the vibrant New York City area with the distinguished legacy of the winged hourglass brand, creating an inviting and immersive environment for visitors.
To infuse the space with an authentic "Big Apple" character, the store thoughtfully incorporates locally inspired materials and design features. Guests will discover elements such as exposed brick walls, rich reclaimed wood flooring, and original cast iron pre-existing structures, alongside carefully curated design pieces. Complementing these local touches are subtle yet profound references to Longines' 193-year-old history, celebrating its deep-rooted passion for equestrian sports, its pioneering contributions to aviation, and its crucial role in timekeeping for Alpine ski racing events.
This latest addition in Soho holds considerable significance for Longines, as it represents the brand's third retail store across the U.S. and its second within New York City. Yannick Jenni, Longines' Vice President of Sales International, articulated the profound meaning behind this expansion, stating, "The opening of our SoHo boutique represents more than an expansion for Longines: it's a celebration of our deep connection to the United States, a country that has been part of our story since 1845."
The official ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new boutique saw the attendance of key figures, including Yannick Jenni, Brittany Garcia, Brand President, U.S. and Caribbean, and celebrity brand ambassador Jennifer Lawrence. Jenni further emphasized the store's purpose, adding, "This space reflects our timeless dedication to elegance and offers an inspiring setting for clients to discover our watches and experience the world of Longines."
The Soho store's opening is part of a broader global expansion strategy for Longines. This was preceded last year by the successful launch of its second store in London, located in the bustling Covent Garden district. This consistent pattern of establishing new flagship locations in prominent global cities highlights Longines' strategic vision for enhancing brand visibility and direct customer engagement worldwide.
