Lululemon President Celeste Burgoyne Departs for Vail Resorts as Andre Maestrini Takes Global Commercial Lead
Lululemon has announced a significant leadership change, with Celeste Burgoyne, President of the Americas and Global Guest Innovation, departing the Vancouver-based athletic apparel giant. Burgoyne will transition to Vail Resorts, where she has been appointed as Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer. She will remain with Lululemon through December to ensure a seamless transition.
Burgoyne’s departure marks one of the most impactful leadership exits from Lululemon in recent memory. Joining the company in 2006 as its inaugural U.S. general manager, she was instrumental in Lululemon’s remarkable growth, overseeing its expansion from fewer than 10 stores to more than 750 locations worldwide and contributing to over $10 billion in annual revenue. Her extensive tenure saw her responsible for all channel and customer-facing aspects of the North American business, including e-commerce, CRM, marketing, store experience, and real estate, directly generating over $7.5 billion in revenue. She also spearheaded global guest-experience innovation, including the recent launch of the company’s membership program. Prior to Lululemon, Burgoyne spent a decade at Abercrombie & Fitch during its period of major expansion.
Reflecting on her time, Burgoyne stated, “My time at Lululemon has been both inspiring and rewarding beyond belief. I am so proud of what we have accomplished as an organization since I joined in 2006 and know the team will take the company to even greater heights in the years to come. I look forward to continuing to support the brand as a lifelong fan.” Lululemon’s Chief Executive Officer, Calvin McDonald, expressed his gratitude, adding, “We are grateful for Celeste’s leadership and significant contributions to Lululemon’s business and culture over the past 19 years. She has been instrumental in growing our footprint in the Americas, creating high-quality guest experiences, and mentoring our teams across the organization. I deeply appreciate her partnership and friendship, and we wish her all the best in the future.”
Alongside this leadership transition, Lululemon is consolidating its regional leadership structure under a newly established role. André Maestrini has been appointed as President and Chief Commercial Officer, effective immediately, and will continue to report directly to McDonald.
In his expanded capacity, Maestrini will now oversee all of Lululemon’s global regions, stores, and digital channels. His role will involve guiding the company’s commercial strategy, with a primary focus on driving market expansion, generating revenue, and integrating best practices across both North American and international markets. Maestrini first joined Lululemon in 2021 as Executive Vice President of International, where he was responsible for operations across EMEA, APAC, and China Mainland. Under his leadership, Lululemon’s international revenue more than quadrupled, showcasing his profound impact on global growth.
Calvin McDonald praised Maestrini’s capabilities, noting, “André has demonstrated a proven ability to unlock opportunities, advance our global expansion, and deliver growth across multiple markets. Leveraging operational discipline, deep guest insights, and extensive brand-building experience, André is the ideal person to lead our business across all markets, including North America, as we remain focused on delivering value for our guests, employees, and shareholders.”
