Lyle & Scott partners with Rio Ferdinand Foundation to boost youth opportunity
British heritage fashion brand Lyle & Scott has announced a significant expansion of its commitment to community projects through an impactful new collaboration with The Rio Ferdinand Foundation. This strategic partnership aims to drive social mobility and inspire positive change across the United Kingdom and Ireland, uniting two organisations that share a deep-seated dedication to tackling inequality and fostering meaningful opportunities for young people.
The alliance is built on a shared vision to empower youth from underrepresented communities, enabling them to achieve their full potential. Through this collaboration, Lyle & Scott will actively support the Foundation's mission by providing vital resources crucial for enhancing employability and skills development. Crucially, the initiative will also open doors to promising careers within the dynamic creative and fashion industries, offering practical pathways for aspiring talents.
Over the next 12 months, the partnership is set to deliver a series of enriching experiential opportunities. These initiatives will connect young individuals directly with influential figures across diverse sectors, including art, fashion, sport, and music, providing invaluable mentorship and inspiration. Furthermore, the program will offer tangible career development through work placements and paid internships in various roles, ranging from graphic design and social media management to retail and fashion design.
A key component of this collaborative effort is the expansion of Lyle & Scott’s established ‘Kits for Clubs’ initiative. As part of the partnership, sports kits will be distributed to community clubs actively engaged in Rio Ferdinand Foundation programmes throughout the UK, Ireland, and South Africa. This focused effort is designed to further strengthen community engagement and boost participation in sport, reinforcing the positive impact of physical activity and teamwork.
