Mention Me Appoints AI-Focused Leader Wojtek Kokoszka as New CEO
Mention Me, a leading UK-based customer acquisition platform specializing in beauty and fashion brands, has announced the appointment of Wojtek Kokoszka as its new Chief Executive Officer. This significant leadership change coincides with a pivotal moment for the company, as it begins to strategically leverage its artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities with the launch of its new product, Mention Me Influencer.
The company, renowned for helping brands achieve organic, customer-led growth through referral and micro-influencer marketing, highlighted Kokoszka's suitability for the role, citing his "extensive leadership experience in technology transformation and global expansion." His appointment signals a clear direction for Mention Me to further solidify its market position and innovate within the evolving digital marketing landscape.
Kokoszka brings a formidable track record to Mention Me. Most recently, he served as CEO of OpenCorporates, the world's largest Database-as-a-Service (DaaS) platform for legal entity information, where he was instrumental in spearheading the company's technology transformation and successful expansion into the US market. Furthermore, as a co-founder of Zappi, a prominent SaaS consumer insights platform, Kokoszka demonstrated exceptional growth leadership, scaling the company to an impressive $100 million in revenue and navigating multiple funding rounds, including a significant investment from Silicon Valley growth equity firm Sumeru Equity Partners.
Expressing his enthusiasm for joining Mention Me "at such a pivotal moment in the company’s growth," Kokoszka articulated a clear vision for the future. He stated, "As the market leader in a critical marketing vertical, Mention Me is perfectly positioned for the new AI-powered marketing era. We’re in the midst of a ‘trust revolution’, and our customers have recognised that the way consumers connect with brands is changing at pace." This perspective underscores a fundamental shift in consumer behaviour towards authenticity and reliability in brand interactions.
Kokoszka elaborated on how the new Mention Me Influencer solution will complement the company's flagship Mention Me Referral platform. This integrated approach aims to empower marketing teams to more effectively acquire new customers and maximize value from existing ones by tapping into the growing consumer demand for authenticity. He emphasized a core belief: "In a world where what it means to be ‘human’ is changing every day, it’s the brands that prioritise the value of trust over ad spend that will come out on top." This statement positions trust as the ultimate differentiator in an increasingly AI-driven and often saturated marketing environment.
Tim Boughton, co-founder of Mention Me, also voiced his strong support for the new CEO. He added, "In this era of AI, the relevance and value of trust has amplified significantly and we are confident that Wojtek’s wealth of executional and visionary experience will help Mention Me succeed in its next phase." Boughton's comments reinforce the strategic alignment between Kokoszka’s expertise and Mention Me’s future ambitions, particularly in navigating the opportunities and challenges presented by advanced AI technologies.
