Nike and Palace Unite Football and Skateboarding for the Bold P90 Collection

A thrilling collaboration has emerged, bringing together two giants in their respective fields: Nike and Palace. The highly anticipated P90 collection signals a powerful fusion, bridging the worlds of football and skateboarding – the core communities that define both iconic brands. This joint venture sees the spirit of the Barclays Premier League, as reimagined through a distinct urban lens, making a return.

The P90 collection serves as a modern reinterpretation of Nike’s legendary Total90 franchise, viewed through Palace’s unique aesthetic. It masterfully occupies the intersection of high-performance sportswear and contemporary urban culture. Key pieces in the collection include tracksuits, shirts, and trainers, all prominently featuring the new P90 logo. Complementing these, a range of hoodies, joggers, sweatshirts, shorts, and T-shirts proudly display Palace’s signature Tri-Ferg motif alongside a creatively reworked Nike Swoosh. The entire collection is presented in a sophisticated color palette of white, grey, and vibrant neon green, adding a fresh, energetic touch.

Gareth Skewis, co-founder of Palace, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “Nike has always been a brand we’ve admired, and this collaboration came about naturally. There are genuine synergies between our skate world and Nike’s.” This sentiment underscores the authentic connection and shared values that underpin the collaboration, ensuring a seamless blend of their distinct identities.

To celebrate and promote this landmark collection, Nike and Palace have assembled an impressive roster of figures from both the football and skateboarding realms. Leading the charge is Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney, who shared his personal connection to the franchise: “I was there when the T90 was born, from the very first sketches. It was my favourite boot as a player, so to be part of its evolution into P90 is a real source of pride.” Rooney is joined by other top football talents including Leah Williamson, captain of the England women’s team, Chelsea star Reece James, and rising prodigies Lenna Gunning-Williams from Tottenham Hotspur and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens of Borussia Dortmund.

The skateboarding community is equally well-represented by acclaimed riders such as Lucien Clarke, Savannah Stacey Keenan, Kyle Wilson, Ville Wester, and Pedro Attenborough, alongside the legendary Guy Mariano. Adding a distinct South London flavor to the campaign, renowned rapper and grime pioneer Giggs also features. All these influential personalities come together in a captivating campaign film directed by the acclaimed Alasdair McLellan. The film is set at Manor Place, an innovative new collaborative space conceptualized by Palace and Nike, offering a unique backdrop for the collection.

Manor Place itself is a groundbreaking venue, designed to foster community engagement and creative expression. It encompasses a state-of-the-art skatepark, a dedicated football pitch, and a dynamic exhibition space, all of which are open to the public free of charge. This accessible hub perfectly embodies the inclusive spirit of the P90 collection and the wider collaboration.

Elaborating on the inspiration behind the collection, Lev Tanju, Palace’s co-founder and creative director, explained, “We wanted to create an indoor football collection to coincide with the opening of Manor Place. We chose something that made us nostalgic, a symbol of our youth, an icon: Total90. And besides, these shoes are perfect for skating!” This statement highlights the thoughtful blend of heritage, personal nostalgia, and practical versatility that defines the P90 collection, making it a truly unique offering for fans of both fashion and sport.
