Nobody's Child and Lisou Drop 60s & 70s Inspired Maximalist Collection

Fashion brands Nobody’s Child and Lisou have announced an exciting new collaboration, co-launching an exclusive collection that draws inspiration from the vibrant era of 1960s and 1970s British pop culture. This partnership brings together two distinctive aesthetics to create a unique offering for consumers.

The result is an 18-piece collection described as "bold, joyful, and unapologetically fun." It meticulously reimagines vintage silhouettes, infusing them with premium fabrics and exclusive prints sourced directly from the Lisou archive. At the heart of this design philosophy lies Lisou founder René Macdonald’s deep connection to her African heritage, expressed through her "symbolic print traditions" and a rich tapestry of hand-drawn prints created in her London studio.

Tailoring plays a pivotal role within this "maximalist collaboration," with a focus on sharply-cut blazers featuring nipped-in waists and premium linings. These pieces are expertly paired with contemporary miniskirts and elegant wide-leg trousers, offering a sophisticated yet playful aesthetic.

The collection further explores versatile styling with corduroy and velvet mini dresses, designed with alluring low cuts. These are thoughtfully styled over striped long-sleeve tops and blouses adorned with statement collars, demonstrating a clever layering approach that harks back to the era's eclectic fashion.

Several hero pieces stand out, including bias-cut column maxi dresses. These feature striking backless silhouettes, delicate drop bead detailing, and elegant scarf-style necklines, presented in a luxurious palette of jewel-toned greens, cherry lacquer harlequin prints, and rich purples. Another highlight is the 'Jay' jumpsuit in magenta, a truly "standout party piece" with its bold one-shoulder cut, flared leg, and exaggerated sleeve.

The outerwear component is exemplified by the 'Cameron' coat. Crafted from double-faced wool, this piece boasts an oversized cocoon shape, finished with darted cuffs that add a touch of dramatic volume, ensuring both style and comfort.

Jody Plows, CEO of Nobody’s Child, expressed her enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “Lisou is a brand we’ve long admired for its playful use of colour and print. Collaborating with René and her team has allowed us to explore new creative territory and offer our customers a premium range of beautiful, considered pieces to be worn forever. This collaboration brings together the best of both worlds - Lisou’s spirited flair and our commitment to beautiful clothing for everyone.”

The collection is now accessible to customers, with prices ranging from £69 to £299. It caters to a wide array of sizes, from 4-22 (XS-XL), and is available at selected Nobody’s Child stores and through their official website.
