Odd Muse Takes the Luxury World by Storm with New Bond Street Flagship

Odd Muse, the burgeoning womenswear label known for its "quiet-luxury aesthetic," is set to expand its physical presence in London with a significant new store on the prestigious New Bond Street. This marks the brand's second establishment in the capital, signifying a major step in its rapid growth trajectory.

Opening its doors on October 4th, the new location, aptly named the ‘Odd Muse Townhouse,’ will occupy the entire five-storey No 77 address. This expansive space is poised to become the brand's “most elevated retail experience to date,” celebrating a “milestone moment just five years after its launch.” Founder and creative director Aimee Smale revealed that the idea of a New Bond Street presence faced initial skepticism. Despite being told “no” and advised to consider other locations, Smale remained resolute, stating, “Odd Muse is all about standing tall in luxury conversations and inviting our community into a world luxury fashion previously didn’t think to invite them into.” She envisions the Townhouse as “more than just a shopping destination,” designing it as an accessible community hub where visitors are welcome irrespective of making a purchase, serving as an entry point to 'luxury' fashion amidst a landscape of ultra-luxury brands.

Since its inception in 2020, Smale has impressively transformed Odd Muse from a direct-to-consumer online label into a formidable brand boasting a “seven-figure turnover and a global community of more than 350,000.” Central to its success is an ethos focused on “bridging the gap between fast fashion and unattainable luxury.” Smale highlights that this philosophy has deeply resonated with a new generation of consumers who prioritize timeless design and affordability without compromising on quality, distinguishing Odd Muse in a crowded market.

This bold move onto New Bond Street follows Odd Muse’s successful debut permanent flagship store in Covent Garden, which opened in November 2023. The Monmouth Street location was a natural progression after a series of successful London pop-ups, quickly becoming a vital physical extension of the brand’s e-commerce presence. At this store, shoppers can explore Odd Muse’s distinctive offerings, including signature blazers, elegant pearl-adorned dresses, and sophisticated occasionwear, complemented by convenient next-day click-and-collect services.

Odd Muse’s “leap” into New Bond Street is indicative of a broader industry shift, reflecting a trend where digitally native and independent labels are increasingly penetrating luxury shopping districts traditionally dominated by established heritage houses. Smale explicitly draws parallels, adding, “Much like brands Ganni and Reformation, Odd Muse is signalling that contemporary, community-led fashion can sit alongside established luxury players, reshaping what aspirational retail looks like for younger audiences.” This strategic expansion solidifies Odd Muse's position as a significant player, redefining the landscape of accessible luxury retail.
