Perfect Moment Surges 24% in Sales Driven by Wholesale Strength Despite E-commerce Dip
Perfect Moment, the London-based après skiwear brand, has announced a robust performance for its second quarter, with sales surging 24% to reach $4.8 million. This significant growth for the three months ending September 30 was primarily driven by exceptionally strong wholesale revenues, underscoring a successful period for the company.
A closer look at the revenue streams reveals that wholesale revenues skyrocketed by an impressive 61% during the quarter. This substantial increase is attributed to healthy growth across its wholesale order book and enhanced operational execution, as detailed in a recent press release. Conversely, the company's e-commerce revenue experienced a 71% decrease. This strategic shift reflects Perfect Moment's deliberate move away from heavily discounted online sales and a transition towards establishing itself as a full-price brand, departing from its historical reliance on promotional activity for a large portion of its e-commerce revenue.
From a profitability standpoint, Perfect Moment reported a net loss of $1.8 million, or $0.06 per diluted share, for the quarter. This represents a significant improvement compared to the same period last year, when the company recorded a net loss of $2.7 million, or $0.17 per diluted share, highlighting progress in its financial efficiency.
Jane Gottschalk, co-founder, creative director, and president of Perfect Moment, commented on the results, stating, "Our second quarter marks another step forward on our path to profitability through more efficient execution." She further added, "We delivered strong top-line growth, expanded margins, and significantly improved operating performance – all while strengthening the global reach and desirability of the Perfect Moment brand. We are entering the key winter season with strong momentum, a disciplined balance sheet, and a sharper operating model designed for sustainable growth."
Looking ahead, Perfect Moment anticipates continued revenue growth and improved operating leverage as new partnerships, retail locations, and product categories mature. This strategic vision is already materializing, with the company having recently opened its first physical store in Switzerland earlier this month, choosing Verbier as its debut location for direct retail engagement.
