Philip Tavell named new Dynafit Brand Director effective 2026.

The Oberalp Group has announced the appointment of Philip Tavell as the new brand director for Dynafit, with the change set to take effect in February 2026. The new executive joins Dynafit from the Norwegian company Helly Hansen, where he most recently served as vice president for its outdoor segment. Tavell, a Swedish national, brings extensive international experience to the role.

In addition to his professional background, Tavell's selection was influenced by his broad expertise in international leadership, spanning product management, development, and branding. His professional career includes significant experience in diverse markets, having held roles in countries such as Sweden, Norway, the United States, Switzerland, and Germany. Prior to his 14-year tenure at Helly Hansen, where he honed his management skills in the outdoor sector, he held positions at leading brands including Red Bull and Craft.

Tavell also boasts a competitive sports history, having competed internationally as a professional mountain bike racer for teams such as Cyclepro and Multivan-Merida. Reflecting on his new role, Tavell stated, "Dynafit represents a unique opportunity for me to combine my interests and sporting passions within a brand universe dedicated to mountain athletes."

Dynafit holds a prominent position within the Oberalp stable, ranking as the second-largest brand after Salewa, with a turnover approaching €100 million. The brand has evolved significantly from its origins specializing in ski mountaineering to become a benchmark for mountain athletes across various disciplines, including trail running and general mountaineering, operating in over 50 countries worldwide. A year ago, Dynafit consolidated its operations by moving into the new Speed Factory headquarters located in Kiefersfelden, Germany.

The Bolzano-based Oberalp Group, which owns Dynafit, employs over 1,200 people globally. The group's portfolio includes other prominent brands such as Pomoca, Wild Country, Evolv, and LaMunt, and it also functions as the exclusive distribution partner for eight international sportswear brands.
