Poshmark Appoints Former Ancestry and Glassdoor CPO Heather Friedland to Lead Product Innovation
Poshmark, the leading social marketplace for new and pre-owned style, has announced the strategic appointment of Heather Friedland as its first Chief Product Officer. In this newly created and pivotal role, Friedland will take the reins of Poshmark’s comprehensive product strategy, roadmap, and execution. Her primary mandate is to spearhead the platform's next phase of innovation and accelerate its growth trajectory.
Namsun Kim, Chief Executive Officer of Poshmark, expressed his enthusiasm for the appointment, stating, "In selecting Heather as our chief product officer, we sought a leader who combines deep product expertise with a customer-first mindset and a sharp understanding of marketplace dynamics." Friedland brings a wealth of experience to Poshmark, having a distinguished career in product leadership roles across prominent technology companies. Most recently, she served as Chief Product Officer at Ancestry, where she played a crucial role in shaping their product offerings. Prior to that, she held the same CPO title at Glassdoor, where she was instrumental in driving product innovation and organizational transformation during significant periods of company growth.
Her extensive background also includes a substantial tenure at eBay, where she progressed through various leadership positions. She initially led product management for search and buying experiences, eventually rising to Vice President of Product. In this role, Friedland spearheaded key initiatives that significantly expanded eBay’s global reach. Her career foundation was laid at Jump.com, a company later acquired by Microsoft, where she contributed to the development of foundational products such including MSN, Windows Live Q&A, and Bing Search.
