Puma has announced the appointment of Nadia Kokni as its new Vice President, Global Brand Marketing, effective January 1st. Kokni will report directly to Puma’s Chief Brand Officer, Maria Valdes, and will be instrumental in driving the company’s global brand strategy forward.
In her new role, Kokni will be responsible for overseeing the global brand marketing strategy, shaping the creative direction, and leading integrated marketing and communications efforts. This appointment signifies Puma’s commitment to strengthening its brand presence worldwide and enhancing the narrative surrounding its renowned products and innovations.
Kokni brings a wealth of international experience to Puma, having successfully shaped and transformed prominent global brands across the sports, fashion, and lifestyle sectors. Her impressive career includes senior leadership positions at major companies such as JD Sports, H&M, adidas, Tommy Hilfiger, and most recently, Hugo Boss, where she served as Senior Vice President of Global Marketing and Communications. At Hugo Boss, she spearheaded a significant brand transformation and accelerated the company’s digital initiatives.
Maria Valdes highlighted Kokni’s expertise, stating, “Nadia is a world-class marketing expert who has demonstrated her ability to build modern global brands through strategic clarity, creative excellence and cultural relevance.” Valdes emphasized the importance of this appointment for Puma, noting it arrives at a crucial time as the company integrates product development and storytelling more closely. She believes Kokni’s leadership will be key to crafting compelling product stories, increasing brand desirability, and fostering stronger consumer relationships.
This strategic move follows Puma’s decision to consolidate brand marketing, product development, creative direction, innovation, and go-to-market strategies into a unified global organization under Valdes’ leadership. The aim is to create a more streamlined and cohesive approach to brand building and market penetration.
Kokni expressed her enthusiasm about joining Puma, stating, “I am delighted to join Puma at such an exciting time for the brand. The company has an impressive heritage and a clear opportunity to take a leading role at the intersection of sport, culture and performance.” She looks forward to collaborating with Valdes and the global teams to develop impactful stories that resonate with consumers and propel Puma’s future growth.
Kokni succeeds Richard Teyssier, who has departed from Puma to pursue new opportunities outside of the sporting goods industry. The company wishes him well in his future endeavors.
