PZ Cussons Appoints New CFO as It Bets on St. Tropez Brand
PZ Cussons, the UK-listed personal care specialist, has announced the appointment of Jan Bramall as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and a member of its board, effective March. This strategic move comes as the company charts a new course following a comprehensive strategic review conducted earlier in the year.
Bramall brings a wealth of experience to PZ Cussons, having held senior finance and strategy positions in international businesses spanning the construction and travel sectors. Currently serving as interim CFO at Severfield, she previously spent over five years as Head of Finance at Manchester Airports Group, where she was instrumental in delivering significant transformation projects.
She will be succeeding Sarah Pollard, who is departing PZ Cussons to pursue an undisclosed new opportunity. CEO Jonathan Myers expressed his confidence in Bramall’s abilities, stating she is “a seasoned CFO with a strong track record of achievement” and will be a key asset as the company executes its new strategy and aims for improved profitability.
The strategic review that prompted this leadership change also resulted in the decision to retain the St. Tropez brand, a key player in skincare, sun protection, and self-tan. Rather than selling the brand, St. Tropez will now be central to PZ Cussons’ “new strategic direction.”
This decision follows a period of “challenging performance” for PZ Cussons, which included declining revenue in the US during FY25 and a broader contraction in valuation multiples within the beauty industry. In response, the company is establishing a dedicated team focused on driving the St. Tropez brand’s growth across its international markets.
This team will be incentivized based on key performance indicators, including strong in-market execution with a focus on digital activation, a renewed emphasis on innovation, and efforts to revitalize the brand’s equity. Furthermore, PZ Cussons is forging a strategic partnership with The Emerson Group, a leading US-based partner for brand owners, to support this initiative.
