Quiz Clothing's partywear launch drives sales success into the Golden Quarter
After a period marked by persistent reports of decline, Quiz Clothing appears to have successfully navigated a corner in 2025, with recent news consistently reinforcing this positive shift. Following September's announcement of robust summer sales and last month's detailed report outlining improved financial results and ambitious store opening plans, the fashion retailer has now added another significant win to its tally: the highly successful launch of its latest partywear collection, which has substantially driven sales upwards.
The company confirmed a notable 6% rise in like-for-like sales directly attributed to this new partywear range. Unveiled at the close of October, this extensive collection, featuring an impressive 250 pieces, represents Quiz's largest party offering to date. Its strong debut has undoubtedly given the Scotland-based retailer a powerful head start into what is commonly known as the crucial "Golden Quarter," signaling a promising outlook for the year-end trading period.
Early trend indicators for the festive party season reveal clear preferences among shoppers. There's a pronounced inclination towards longer length midi and maxi dresses, with sales being significantly boosted by the popularity of luxurious fabrics such as mesh, satin, and velvet. In terms of color palettes, perennial favorite black continues its strong performance, while discerning shoppers are also actively purchasing items in rich bottle green, classic navy blue, and earthy brown tones, reflecting a sophisticated shift in seasonal fashion choices.
Beyond apparel, Quiz Clothing has also observed a heightened demand for its footwear and accessories categories. Leading the charge in this segment are elegant stiletto heel evening shoes and stylish clutch-style evening bags, particularly those in gold finishes. CEO Sheraz Ramzan highlighted this significant trend, stating that "gold has overtaken silver as the metallic of choice." He further elaborated on this shift, attributing it largely to gold's versatile ability to perfectly complement the prevalent brown, berry, and green hues found in the season's dress collections.
Geographically, Quiz has identified several key urban centers as frontrunners in early partywear demand. Glasgow, Manchester, Sheffield, and London are the cities currently showcasing the strongest interest. Across these locations, the average basket value for partywear purchases stands at a healthy £60, underscoring both the appeal of the collection and the willingness of customers to invest in their festive wardrobes.
