Rixo Unveils Eccentric Estate-Inspired Boutique at Bicester Village Embracing Circularity
Vintage-inspired fashion brand Rixo has significantly expanded its retail footprint by opening a permanent boutique within the esteemed Bicester Village community. This move marks an exciting new chapter for the brand, establishing a presence at the hugely popular Oxfordshire fashion outlet, which also serves as a major tourist hotspot. The new boutique is a crucial component of Rixo’s broader "revolve strategy," designed to actively encourage and promote product circularity within its offerings.
The design of the Bicester Village space draws inspiration from "eccentric and eclectic English estates," reflecting Rixo's distinctive vintage-inspired aristocratic flair. The interior was meticulously crafted by Gemma McCloskey, founder of Cúpla studio and twin sister of Rixo co-founder Orlagh McCloskey, to perfectly encapsulate the brand's unique aesthetic and heritage. This thoughtfully designed environment aims to provide customers with an immersive shopping experience that aligns with Rixo's brand identity.
Serving as Rixo's seventh store globally, the new boutique will present an enticing selection for shoppers. It will feature a range of the brand’s sought-after off-price items alongside ready-to-wear pieces from its latest collections, including a comprehensive array of footwear and accessories. Notably, the store will also offer the highly popular Rixo x Dragon Diffusion collaboration, in addition to markdown styles from the elegant Rixo Bridal collection, providing diverse options for various customer needs.
Co-founders Henrietta Rix and Orlagh McCloskey expressed their enthusiasm for the opening, stating, “It’s a wonderful opportunity to reach new audiences and share our commitment to circularity, by bringing Rixo’s never-before-seen gems, iconic classics and special pieces to an even wider community.” Their remarks highlight the brand's dual objectives of expanding its reach while reinforcing its dedication to sustainable practices.
This Bicester Village opening follows a particularly dynamic year for Rixo, marked by significant growth and strategic initiatives. The brand recently launched a new London flagship store and a dedicated space within Liberty, alongside a successful resale platform. Furthermore, Rixo made a triumphant return to the London Fashion Week SS26 schedule to commemorate its 10-year anniversary, a major milestone for the brand. Its latest collection, "We Are One," was presented as "a vibrant celebration of humanity," signalling an expansion of its product categories and a complete rebranding of the business.
Bicester Village continues to solidify its reputation as a premier destination for high-end and luxury brands, consistently attracting discerning shoppers and tourists alike. It remains one of the UK's top shopping centres and a key destination for international visitors, drawing in excess of 7 million visitors annually. Rixo's inclusion in this esteemed community underscores its growing prominence in the fashion landscape and its strategic vision for continued expansion and customer engagement.
