Sandro Expands Globally with New Boutique Openings in Latin America
Sandro, the Paris-based premium ready-to-wear brand, is bolstering its international presence with the announcement of two new boutique openings in Latin America. The brand has launched a new location in Los Cabos, Mexico, and its first store in Santiago, Chile, marking a significant step in its growth strategy focused on high-potential markets and strategic local partnerships.
Founded in 1984 by Evelyne Chetrite, Sandro has cultivated a reputation for contemporary style and quality. Currently operating under the SMCP Group – which also includes Maje, Claudie Pierlot, and Fursac – Sandro benefits from a robust international network. SMCP itself is majority-owned by Shandong Ruyi, a Chinese group, and utilizes a combination of directly operated stores and franchise agreements to maintain its global reach.
The Los Cabos boutique, situated within the upscale Ánima Village, opened in early December. This new commercial and cultural district is rapidly becoming a luxury destination in Mexico, hosting over 80 international brands alongside dining and art spaces, all integrated with the surrounding natural environment. The 159-square-meter store offers both womenswear and menswear collections, adhering to Sandro’s signature aesthetic of clean lines, premium materials, and a minimalist atmosphere. This expansion in Mexico, facilitated through a partnership with Retail Fashion Group, brings the total number of Sandro points of sale in the country to 21.
Simultaneously, Sandro has made its debut in Chile with a boutique in Santiago’s Parque Arauco shopping centre. Located within the mall’s dedicated luxury district – a prime retail location in the Chilean capital – the 142-square-meter store showcases the brand’s full womenswear and menswear offerings, maintaining the elegant and modern design ethos characteristic of Sandro boutiques. This opening, a collaboration with Leuru Group, is a pivotal moment in the brand’s regional expansion plans.
These Latin American developments follow Sandro’s recent move into Argentina, with a boutique slated to open in Buenos Aires in October 2025. Globally, Sandro operates over 750 points of sale across key markets including Europe, North America, Asia, and the Middle East, with further expansion planned in Latin America, specifically in Paraguay and Uruguay. In its home country of France, Sandro maintains a strong presence with 143 points of sale, including 64 corners.
This strategic expansion is supported by the overall performance of the SMCP Group, which reported revenues of €1.21 billion in 2024, with Sandro contributing approximately half of that total. The continued growth in Latin America underscores Sandro’s commitment to strengthening its connection with both local and international customers.
