Serapian's Spring Summer 2026 Collection Blends Artistry with Nature's Hues

Serapian's Spring Summer 2026 Collection Blends Artistry with Nature's Hues

During Milan Fashion Week, Serapian unveiled its Spring/Summer 2026 collection, aptly titled “Sunrise of Mestieri d’Arte,” at its elegant Milanese headquarters, Villa Mozart. This presentation marked the highly anticipated second chapter of the maison's ongoing creative partnership with renowned British designer Bethan Laura Wood, a collaboration that first captivated audiences last April at Salone del Mobile.

For this new collection, Wood masterfully intertwines her distinctive color harmonies with Serapian's celebrated artisanal savoir-faire, placing a strong emphasis on rich materiality, innovative design, and emotive narrative. Her vision reimagines iconic pieces such as the Secret, Mini Secret, and Anì bags, infusing them with a captivating palette of azure, pink, off-white, and ice. These hues are artfully blended to create a chiaroscuro effect, drawing inspiration from the intricate Japanese Bokashi printing technique. Each piece serves as a testament to the exceptional versatility of the maison's signature Mosaico technique. The collection also introduces a stylish pink-and-white shoulder strap, designed to elegantly enhance existing Serapian bags, alongside a versatile unisex travel bag presented in a sophisticated olive green and brown combination.

Maxime Bohé, CEO of Serapian, highlighted the brand’s current trajectory in a statement to FashionNetwork.com, noting, “We are in a phase of expansion, driven by the fact that today’s clients increasingly seek exceptional craftsmanship, design, and the quality of the handmade. They want to return to the roots of luxury and craftsmanship — to what is authentic and rare.” He further elaborated on the brand's success in discerning markets, stating, “This is why, for example, we are performing particularly well in Japan, a highly discerning market when it comes to craftsmanship, with a strong culture of research. Last June, we opened our first Japanese flagship, Villa Serapian, in Tokyo. We are also present in four department stores in the capital, as well as in Osaka and Sapporo.”

Bohé underscored the importance of creating immersive retail experiences, explaining, “What’s really important for us is finding locations that double as experiential spaces — like Villa Mozart — where we can offer our bespoke services.” These personalized offerings have seen remarkable success among clients from Italy, America, Japan, and the Middle East, appealing to individuals “who already have everything and are looking for truly rare and unique pieces.” The CEO also confirmed steady growth in e-commerce, particularly around the Mosaico collection, which is central to the maison’s identity, and teased forthcoming mono-brand openings, with details yet to be disclosed.

Delving deeper into the Spring/Summer 2026 collection, a notable new arrival is the Maro bag, instantly recognizable by a distinctive strip of knotted nappa leather adorning each side. This versatile design will be available in four practical styles: a maxi tote, a medium tote, a mini handbag, and a crossbody variant. Color and light play a pivotal role this season, with the introduction of fresh shades such as indigo, aqua, blush, sand, and antique rose, harmoniously complementing Serapian’s timeless classics.

Innovation also extends to the Mosaico technique itself, with new developments like “Ribbon,” which showcases a captivating three-dimensional texture achieved through the intricate interlacing of cotton ribbons. Additionally, the “Microchain” series adds a touch of subtle luminosity to the maison’s creations, incorporating delicate metal chains into the design. The beloved classic Secret bag undergoes a fresh reinterpretation through new artisanal techniques, including “Mosaico Crochet,” featuring an elegant raffia motif, and “Raffia Denim,” which expertly blends both materials. Expanding the Chiaroscuro Canvas series, this collection introduces, for the very first time, a perfectly matching beach towel.

For men, the distinguished Stepan collection receives a contemporary update. It now features an asphalt cotton canvas, beautifully accented with Cachemire leather detailing in sophisticated off-white, beige, and leaf green tones. This season also marks the debut of a full-leather version of the Stepan bag, presented in an intense, rich green, offering a luxurious new option.

The collection's presentation was thoughtfully curated alongside some of Bethan Laura Wood’s most iconic works, creating a striking scenography inspired by nature as observed under a microscope. For this special occasion, Wood conceptualized a modular system, reminiscent of scientific models and molecular structures, which served as elegant pedestals for the displayed bags. Developed in close collaboration with Barbini Specchi of Murano and master glass artisan Pietro Viero, these unique structures are designed to have a life beyond the presentation, destined to be utilized in Serapian boutiques around the world, continuing to enhance the brand's aesthetic experience.
