&Sons partners with Cotton Lives On for month-long sustainability drive supporting the homeless

&Sons is embarking on a dedicated, month-long initiative to significantly enhance its sustainability efforts, collaborating with specialist organization Cotton Lives On. This vintage-inspired fashion retailer is set to host two key events and introduce permanent drop-off boxes in its London Soho and Cheltenham stores, underscoring a commitment to circular fashion and community engagement.

Beginning October 23rd, customers at both &Sons locations will have the opportunity to donate unwanted garments directly into designated drop-off boxes. As an incentive for their participation in this eco-conscious endeavor, customers who donate will receive a 20% discount on their next in-store purchase. It is important to note that for these donated items to be accepted, they must contain 85% or more cotton, ensuring they are suitable for repurposing.

Cotton Lives On will play a pivotal role in this initiative by taking the collected old cottons and giving them a renewed purpose. These materials will be expertly transformed into essential roll mats, specifically designed to assist individuals experiencing homelessness. This innovative approach not only diverts textiles from landfills but also provides tangible support, helping vulnerable people achieve a much-needed proper night's sleep.

Further amplifying its sustainability drive, &Sons will host a special event at its Soho store on October 23rd, from 6 pm to 9 pm. Guests are warmly invited to bring along up to two garments they wish to resell. This unique evening empowers participants to set their own prices and share the personal stories behind each piece, fostering a connection between the old and new owners and allowing garments to find new homes through a conscious resale process.

Cotton Lives On aptly describes this evening as "dedicated to circular fashion, giving clothes the chance to be rehomed, repurposed, and remembered." &Sons echoes this sentiment, stating, "This is more than an event. It's a celebration of circular fashion, community, and the stories our clothes carry." While the 85% cotton rule applies to items donated for repurposing into mats, garments brought for resale at the event can be of any brand, provided they meet the spirit of finding a new home.

This latest charitable initiative from &Sons builds upon a consistent track record of social responsibility. Approximately a year prior, the retailer demonstrated its commitment to giving back by partnering with the US charity ‘Heroes and Horses’ in observance of World Suicide Prevention Day. During that campaign, &Sons designed and launched a special limited-edition T-shirt, with all profits from its sales directly donated to the charity, highlighting their ongoing dedication to impactful causes.
