The Clothette Launches New Womenswear Trade Show Clothette Edito During Paris Fashion Week
The fashion landscape is buzzing with anticipation as Paris Fashion Week approaches in early October, and a new trade show is poised to make its debut. Launched by the prominent ready-to-wear sales agency The Clothette, this fresh event, named Clothette Edito, will welcome visitors from September 29 to October 6. Located at 339 Rue Saint-Martin in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris, the 350-square-meter space is set to host approximately 20 French and international brands, presenting a carefully curated collection exclusively dedicated to women's wear.
The creation of Clothette Edito fulfills a long-held ambition for The Clothette team. While their primary showroom has historically focused on menswear and lifestyle brands, this new trade show marks a strategic expansion, enabling the agency to make a significant entry into the womenswear market. The Clothette anticipates a strong turnout of buyers from across the globe, eager to discover the diverse range of brands that will be on display during this dedicated Fashion Week event.
The inaugural lineup boasts an eclectic mix of labels, including Danish brands such as Stella Nova, Stel, DawnxDare, Gestuz, and Opéra Sport. The show will also feature American brand Degen, Spanish labels Thinking Mu and Rita Row, Argentine shoemaker Dubié, and French brands like Solène, Chou², and Béton Ciré. Antoine Leneuf, CEO and majority shareholder of The Clothette, characterizes these selections as "not designer labels; they have a primarily commercial profile." He adds, "It’s a selection of slightly more contemporary brands, with price points a little higher than what we’re used to."
Clothette Edito is strategically positioned to become a consistent fixture on the Parisian trade show calendar. The organizers intend for it to return during every edition of Paris Fashion Week in the French capital, occurring biannually in both October and March. This commitment underscores the long-term vision for the event, with Antoine Leneuf stating the clear objective: "The objective is to grow it."
Despite the dense "fashion jungle" of events during Paris Fashion Week, Clothette Edito expects to attract key attendees, including representatives from French department stores and numerous multi-brand retailers. Antoine Leneuf is confident in its ability to stand out from the competition. He distinguishes Clothette Edito by explaining, "We’re more textile-led than Première Classe, and our brands are more contemporary and commercial than those at Tranoï. We’re closer to Woman."
It is important to note that Clothette Edito is designed to operate distinctly from The Clothette's traditional showroom, and the brands showcased at the trade show are not intended to be part of the agency's permanent showroom collection. The Clothette agency itself, which was taken over by its three sales managers a year ago, currently represents 25 brands. Antoine Leneuf, who joined the company eight years ago when founder Christine Lancereau ran it with just 11 brands, assures that this cap of 25 brands will not be exceeded, maintaining a focused and curated portfolio.
