Tod's Taps Luxury Veteran Marco Felci as New CEO Americas
Tod's, the distinguished Italian luxury footwear label, has appointed Marco Felci as its new CEO Americas, effective September 15. This strategic move sees Tod's bring in a seasoned luxury expert with an impressive track record on the American continent, aiming to bolster its presence in this key market. Felci takes over from Roberto Lorenzini, who concluded his 14-year tenure with Tod's by resigning from the post last week.
Felci joins Tod's from Dolce & Gabbana, where he served as Executive Vice-President Commercial, Wholesale, and Retail, based in New York. Tod's expressed confidence in their new leader, stating in a press release that "Thanks to his in-depth knowledge of the American market and his proven leadership ability in luxury goods retail, Marco will play a key role in deploying the group’s strategy and in boosting the brand’s expansion throughout the region." This appointment is a significant step in Tod's group's ongoing strategic transformation, which began with John Galantic's assumption of the Group CEO role at the end of 2024, succeeding founder Diego Della Valle, who continues to serve as the group's president.
Marco Felci brings over two decades of extensive experience within the luxury sector, having worked for several prominent fashion labels, predominantly in the United States. His career in luxury commenced in 2004 at Hermès in Italy as a retail manager, followed by a move to Loro Piana as US sales manager. Demonstrating a consistent upward trajectory, Felci then held increasingly senior positions at the US subsidiaries of various luxury brands, including Head of Wholesale at Lanvin, Vice-President in charge of Wholesale at Versace, and CEO Americas for both Sergio Rossi and Etro, before his most recent role at Dolce & Gabbana in 2023.
Felci’s profound experience is expected to be instrumental in driving growth for the Tod's group in the American market. The group, which encompasses Tod's, Roger Vivier, Hogan, and Fay, currently sees the Americas contributing only 7.6% to its total revenue. In 2023, the last fiscal year for which Tod's publicly reported financial results before de-listing, the group registered a total revenue of €1.12 billion. During the same period, revenue from the Americas region stood at €85 million, marking a modest 3.5% increase over fiscal 2022. Felci's expertise is therefore deemed crucial for accelerating the group's expansion and market penetration in this strategically vital region.
