Toms Taps Crocs and Grendene Veteran Jessica Alsing as New CEO
Toms, the socially conscious footwear brand, has announced a significant leadership transition with the appointment of Jessica Alsing as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective October 8. This strategic move is set to guide the Los Angeles-based company through its next phase of development and solidify its position within the competitive footwear market.
Alsing brings a wealth of relevant experience to her new role, having consulted with Toms in recent months. Her expertise spans critical areas including footwear design, digital marketing, and global brand building. She is specifically tasked with reinforcing Toms' status as a footwear leader and driving its growth. Alsing expressed her enthusiasm for the brand's potential, stating, "In 2026, Toms celebrates twenty years since its now-iconic alpargatas first became a sensation. With nostalgia trending and slip-ons being so popular today, I believe there’s never been a better time to reintroduce our signature alpargatas and deepen our leadership in espadrilles building off the Toms essence of endless summer.”
Prior to joining Toms, Alsing cultivated an impressive career in the footwear industry. She dedicated nearly a decade to U.S. footwear giant Crocs Inc., where she held the position of Vice President of International Digital Commerce. More recently, she served as Chief Digital Officer at Grendene Global Brands, a prominent company that owns well-known brands such as Melissa Shoes, Ipanema, and Rider, further demonstrating her proficiency in managing and growing diverse footwear portfolios globally.
The sentiment from Toms' leadership is one of strong confidence in Alsing's capabilities. Thomas Brady, a board member at Toms, commented on the appointment: “Toms is an iconic brand that has inspired millions and set the standard for purpose in business. With Jessica’s extensive experience leading globally relevant footwear companies and her proven ability to drive both growth and impact, we’re confident she is the right leader to propel Toms into its next generation.”
Founded in 2006, Toms has built a powerful legacy not only in footwear but also in social impact. The company has historically contributed over $200 million, both through shoe donations and monetary grants, to nonprofit organizations worldwide. Upholding its commitment to social responsibility, every purchase today continues to support vital initiatives focused on children’s education, health, and overall well-being, ensuring the brand's purpose-driven mission remains at its core under Alsing's leadership.
