Topshop to Relaunch Exclusively Through Myer in Major Australian Comeback
Topshop is making its return to Australia next February, in a significant comeback launch across all 56 stores of key department store retailer Myer. This development marks a new phase in the brand's global relaunch strategy.
The Australian agreement is the latest in a series of online and physical store deals Topshop has secured in multiple international markets. The brand currently has physical locations throughout Europe, including the UK, Ireland, Belgium, France, Denmark, Germany, the Baltic states, and Spain. In the United States, Topshop continues its long-standing partnership with Nordstrom. Looking ahead, the company plans to undertake approximately 20 international relaunches in 2026.
Consistent with its relaunch approach in other countries, the Australian collection will focus on "sharp tailoring, statement outerwear and reworked denim," featuring popular long-standing jeans styles.
Topshop's brand director, Henrik Matthiesen, called the Myer partnership "an important milestone as we reintroduce Topshop to the world." He added that collaborating with Myer enables the brand to "bring our renewed vision to the Australian market with energy, relevance and a stronger connection to how people want to dress today, all while building on Topshop’s iconic British heritage.”
Belinda Slifkas, Myer’s chief merchandise officer, highlighted the retailer’s commitment to "refresh and elevate our womenswear offering with globally relevant, fashion-forward labels." Slifkas noted that Myer is "seeing a growing number of younger customers choosing Myer," expressing confidence that Topshop’s arrival will "further strengthen our appeal and deepen our connection with this customer group."
Topshop was last available in Australia in 2020. The upcoming relaunch will see the brand offered online in addition to its physical presence in Myer stores. Topshop’s current relaunch has generated significant attention through high-profile events, such as a runway takeover in Trafalgar Square during the summer. The brand has also successfully engaged high-end retailers, including Printemps Haussmann, Liberty, and Magasin du Nord, to attract interest.
