Montirex, the rapidly emerging UK sports brand originating from the Northwest of England, has officially launched its products in the United States, marking a significant milestone in its global expansion strategy. This ambitious move sees the brand’s offerings exclusively available to US consumers through a strategic partnership with JD Sports, a prominent athletic fashion retailer.

The highly anticipated debut took place last week at the iconic JD Sports Times Square store in New York City. The flagship location is now stocking Montirex’s signature Trail collection, known for its performance and style, alongside the brand's specially curated MTX Run City New York range. This entry into the US market signifies a pivotal moment for Montirex, demonstrating its accelerated ambition to penetrate new international territories.

The timing of Montirex's US launch was strategically aligned with high-profile sporting events. It notably preceded the UFC 322 fight weekend in New York City, where Montirex ambassador Leon Edwards made his comeback bout at Madison Square Garden. To commemorate this occasion, Montirex unveiled its first-ever US billboard in Times Square and released a compelling short film. Narrated by rising Birmingham rapper T.Roadz, the film intimately chronicled Edwards’ journey back to the cage, paying homage to his roots and unwavering determination, despite his unfortunate loss in the fight.

Irrespective of the fight's outcome, Montirex's foray into the North American market represents a crucial step for the business, building on a foundation of sustained growth since its inception in 2019. The company plans to maintain its momentum in the US into the New Year, leveraging its strong line-up of athlete ambassadors. This includes backing English boxer Dalton Smith during his world title challenge in New York on January 19th, following the recent success of English boxer Giorgio Visoli's US debut in Philadelphia last month.

Founded in Liverpool by best friends Daniel Yuen and Kieran Riddell-Austin, Montirex has experienced remarkable growth in a short period, even opening its first physical store just over a year ago. Reflecting on this monumental expansion, Daniel Yuen expressed the profound significance of the US launch. He stated, “The past few years have been a whirlwind of determination and hard work, and we continue to be humbled by the success we’ve had within the UK market.
