Ulta Beauty Launches "UB Marketplace" to Expand Beauty and Wellness Offerings
Ulta Beauty has officially introduced a new dedicated online marketplace for beauty and wellness, now accessible to consumers directly through the retailer's website and via the Ulta Beauty app. This significant new offering, named "UB Marketplace," went live on Tuesday, marking a notable expansion of Ulta Beauty's e-commerce capabilities.
The UB Marketplace substantially broadens Ulta Beauty’s product assortment, featuring an initial lineup of over 100 new brands. These brands span a diverse range of categories, including wellness, grooming, personal care, luxury items, professional tools, and global beauty products. This curated expansion aims to provide customers with an even wider selection of high-quality goods.
Integrated seamlessly into Ulta Beauty’s existing online shopping experience, participation in the UB Marketplace is strictly by invitation only. This selective approach ensures that every product offered meets Ulta Beauty’s rigorous quality standards, maintaining the trusted shopping environment customers have come to expect from the brand.
Among the inaugural brands joining the marketplace are Manucurist, known for its plant-powered nail care; luxury home fragrance provider Apotheke; men’s grooming essentials from Atwater and Oars + Alps; lash and brow innovators Babe Lash; beloved French skincare brands Nuxe and A313; clean beauty specialist Ogee; and popular K-beauty brand Saturday Skin, alongside many others.
Lauren Brindley, chief merchandising and digital officer at Ulta Beauty, emphasized the strategic benefits of this new venture. "UB Marketplace allows us to deliver more newness, faster entry into emerging subcategories and trends, and deeper category authority – while keeping the guest experience unmistakably Ulta Beauty," Brindley stated. She added that this "thoughtfully curated model scales discovery and brand building for our partners, and ensures guests enjoy the same benefits they love – Ulta Beauty Rewards, easy returns and a unified, trusted shopping experience."
The introduction of the UB Marketplace represents a pivotal achievement within Ulta Beauty’s broader "Ulta Beauty Unleashed" strategy. This overarching company initiative is designed to scale new business opportunities, fostering deeper engagement and connection with beauty enthusiasts across the country.
Looking ahead, Ulta Beauty has ambitious plans to significantly expand the UB Marketplace assortment over the next 12 to 18 months.
