Urban Outfitters Expands European Reach With New Manchester Flagship
Urban Outfitters is significantly strengthening its European retail footprint with the recent opening of its second flagship store in Manchester, strategically located within the city’s prominent Trafford Centre. This new 6,000+ square foot establishment marks a continued physical expansion for the US brand across key European cities, underscoring its commitment to growth in the region.
The new Trafford Centre store is meticulously designed to offer customers an immersive experience, presenting what the brand describes as an "edit of style, culture, and creativity." Shoppers will discover an extensive range of products, including Urban Outfitters' highly popular proprietary brands such as Masterbrand, BDG, iets frans, Kimchi Blue, Loom, and Ayker. Beyond these exclusive lines, the location also curates a unique selection of hand-picked vintage products, alongside various global brands and an assortment of distinctive home and lifestyle items.
Emma Wisden, President of Urban Outfitters EU, commented on the brand's robust performance, stating, “We have delivered strong growth across Europe over the past couple of years which we’ve continued to see positive reactions to.” She further elaborated on the brand's core philosophy: “We have always prioritised creating designs that are unique to us and inspire our customers to express their style. Our selection of standout proprietary brands, curated vintage products, global brands and unique home and lifestyle items are individual to Urban Outfitters and we want to continue to build on this momentum with further growth into Europe.”
The Manchester Trafford Centre opening is part of a broader series of strategic store launches this year, reflecting Urban Outfitters' aggressive expansion strategy across the continent. Recent additions to its European portfolio include new outlets in the Metrocentre in Gateshead, Cork, Ireland, Freiburg and Bremen in Germany, and Milan, Italy. These openings collectively highlight the brand's dedication to making its unique offering accessible to a wider European audience.
This latest Lancashire opening proudly represents Urban Outfitters' 73rd store across Europe, a significant milestone in its journey. The brand is not slowing its pace, with plans already in motion for two additional store openings before the close of the year, further solidifying its presence and market share in the dynamic European retail landscape.
