Urban Outfitters Unveils Valencia Flagship Expanding European Footprint
Urban Outfitters is significantly strengthening its retail presence in Spain with the imminent opening of its new flagship store in Valencia. Set to open its doors on November 13, the highly anticipated location will be situated at 28 Plaza del Ayuntamiento, placing it right in the vibrant heart of the city.
The new Valencia flagship is an impressive retail space, spanning over 465 square metres. It occupies the former premises of the official Valencia CF store, a site that once housed a bank. Staying true to Urban Outfitters' distinctive aesthetic, the interior design meticulously preserves several structural elements and industrial finishes. Most notably, the building's original windows have been retained, contributing to a unique atmosphere. Inside, customers are invited on an experiential journey, exploring a carefully curated selection of the brand's popular in-house labels, including Urban Outfitters Masterbrand, iets Frans…, BDG, and Kimchi Blue. Beyond its own collections, the store will also feature a diverse array of vintage pieces and stylish homeware, catering to a broad lifestyle offering.
This strategic opening in Valencia is a key component of Urban Outfitters' ambitious growth plan across Europe. The company now boasts a total of 75 stores throughout the continent, having recently expanded its footprint with new locations in prominent cities such as Milan, Bremen, and Manchester. Emma Wisden, president of Urban Outfitters Europe, underscored the importance of this expansion, stating, "We continue to expand across Europe, with Spain as one of our strategic markets." She further elaborated on the company's core mission, emphasizing that their main objective is "to inspire our customers to express themselves and embark on their own journey of discovery."
With the addition of the Valencia flagship, Urban Outfitters now operates four standalone stores in Spain. These include its well-established presence at 43 Gran Vía in Madrid, two vibrant locations in Barcelona—one at Plaza de Cataluña and another within the Westfield La Maquinista shopping centre—and now the new flagship in Valencia.
Founded in 1970 in Philadelphia, Urban Outfitters is a renowned retailer and a cornerstone brand within the URBN group's extensive portfolio, which also includes Anthropologie, Free People, and BHLDN. Celebrated for its eclectic mix of fashion, lifestyle products, and vintage offerings, Urban Outfitters today manages more than 268 stores across the United States, Canada, and Europe, continually reinforcing its global appeal and market reach.
