New York-based fashion label Vaquera is making its highly anticipated entry into the world of perfumery with the launch of its inaugural fragrance, a collaborative effort with the esteemed Comme des Garçons Parfums. Named "Classique Perdu," which translates to "Lost Classic," this unique scent is poised to make its official debut on September 30, marking a significant milestone for the brand.

The essence of "Classique Perdu" is deeply rooted in a captivating paradox: a fragrance that feels simultaneously familiar and forgotten, inviting wearers on a journey of rediscovery. Its inspiration is a rich tapestry of nostalgic elements, drawing from the evocative imagery of 90s perfume advertisements, the distinctive chemical sweetness of a childhood car's air conditioning, the airy lightness of freshly dried hair, and the cool, metallic shimmer emanating from a summer fountain. The culmination of these diverse inspirations promises a scent experience unlike any other.

Crafted under the expert guidance of Christian Astuguevieille, creative director for Comme des Garçons Parfums, and master perfumer Suzy Le Helley, "Classique Perdu" boasts a complex and intriguing olfactive profile. The fragrance opens with an unexpected combination of lavandin, the green freshness of tomato leaf, a distinctive permanent marker accord, and a touch of blackcurrant. As it evolves, the heart reveals sophisticated notes of clary sage, iris, and a luminous solar rose. The journey concludes with a warm and grounding base of styrax resin, creamy sandalwood, soft suede, and the woody, ambery essence of evernyl.

The fragrance is presented in a minimalist clear bottle, artfully adorned with liquidation-style stickers, reflecting Vaquera's signature aesthetic. It will be available in a convenient 30ml format, priced at $85. Vaquera encapsulates the scent's philosophy, stating, “Classique Perdu is a rediscovered classic, found where you least expect it.” Adrian Joffe, CEO of Comme des Garçons International, also shared his perspective, noting, “I’ve always been drawn to Vaquera’s iconoclastic tendencies, so when I heard the title Classique Perdu I was surprised—but then realized it made perfect sense. Initial availability for "Classique Perdu" will commence at Comme des Garçons Paris, Dover Street Market Paris and London, and Dover Street Parfums Market in Paris. Following this exclusive launch, the fragrance is set for a broader global rollout from late October, reaching all Comme des Garçons, DSM, and Pocket stores, as well as a curated selection of retailers worldwide.
