Wax London Opens First Northern Store in Leeds Historic Victoria Quarter
Contemporary British menswear brand Wax London has marked a significant milestone in its expansion strategy by opening its inaugural store outside the capital. The new retail space is strategically located within Leeds' historic Victoria Quarter, a premier shopping destination known for housing a curated selection of high-end brands.
The newly unveiled store spans an impressive 2,392 square feet and is nestled among other esteemed British heritage names such as Barbour and Mulberry. This prime location allows Wax London to establish a strong presence in the North. The design of the new outpost serves as a "physical showcase of Wax London’s ethos," meticulously crafted to bring the brand's core values of craft, character, and detail into a distinctive retail environment. The interior's curated aesthetic is specifically engineered to complement the brand’s collections, underscoring its unwavering "dedication to quality and longevity."
The store's design boasts several striking features that contribute to its unique ambiance. These include vintage oak drapers’ tables complemented by reclaimed storage drawers, aged brass shelving units, and elegant marble display plinths. Further enhancing the brand experience are custom Wax London fabric curtains in the fitting rooms, oversized mirrors that expand the sense of space, oak-framed campaign photography, and thoughtfully curated wall merchandising, all working together to immerse visitors in the brand's world.
Beyond its full menswear collection, the Leeds store offers a comprehensive range of products, including an extensive selection of accessories and footwear. This allows customers to explore the complete Wax London lifestyle and find pieces that resonate with their personal style.
Roger Wightman, Managing Director of Wax London, expressed his enthusiasm for the new opening, stating, “Leeds has always been a key destination for us. Every detail of the store was carefully considered to reflect who we are as a brand – from the materials and finishes to the atmosphere we created. It’s a place where people can truly experience the essence of Wax London, brought to life through design, quality, and craft.”
Rachel Bradburn, Head of Leasing at Redical, the operator of Victoria Leeds, welcomed Wax London to the prestigious development. She remarked, “Wax London is the latest in a long line of exceptional brands to call Victoria Leeds the home of its first store outside of London. Marking a pivotal point in the brand’s expansion, Wax London’s northern debut adds even more vibrancy and choice to our historic Victoria Quarter, building on our growing premium menswear offer.”
