Wax London’s Explosive Growth: From UK to Global Fashion Powerhouse
Wax London is experiencing a period of significant growth, having rapidly expanded its reach since launching a concession at Fenwick just one year ago. The brand, celebrating its tenth anniversary, has seen consistent gains in both retail and wholesale sectors, extending its presence beyond the UK to include the US, Hong Kong, and Japan.
According to Managing Director Roger Wightman, the past year represents a “milestone” for the fashion brand, characterized by new international retail partnerships, a bolstered US operation, and a substantial increase in wholesale performance. Currently, Wax London operates four standalone retail locations in London and one in Leeds, alongside international activations such as a month-long residency at The Optimist in Los Angeles, a seasonal event at Kapok in Hong Kong, and a pop-up shop in Shibuya, Japan.
The most notable growth has been within Wax London’s wholesale channel, which has surged by 40%. This expansion is supported by a global network encompassing 24 countries, 192 accounts, and over 500 stores. The brand’s partnerships with high-profile retailers like Harrods, Nordstrom (across 50 doors), Harvey Nichols, Liberty London, END Clothing, Brown Thomas, Bloomingdale’s, Le Bon Marché, and Beams Japan demonstrate its increasing international distribution and elevated brand positioning.
Wax London has also made significant strides in the US market, rapidly scaling operations through the establishment of a dedicated third-party logistics (3PL) provider. This 3PL supports both business-to-business (B2B) and direct-to-consumer (DTC) channels, enabling direct domestic shipping, faster fulfillment, and enhanced customer benefits such as free returns and free shipping on orders over $200. These improvements are driving increased e-commerce and wholesale opportunities within the US.
Wightman emphasizes that these results are not only a testament to past achievements but also provide a strong foundation for future growth. Wax London is now focused on continued international expansion and further brand elevation as it enters its next phase of development.
