It's hard to believe a full year has passed since TV personality and Go Outdoors brand ambassador, Helen Skelton, officially inaugurated the colossal 125,000 sq-ft York superstore. Marking its first anniversary, the facility continues to hold its distinction as not only the brand's largest store but also the biggest of its kind across Europe, solidifying its significant presence in the outdoor retail landscape.

The outdoor retail specialist proudly announced that the York superstore has swiftly ascended to become its best-performing flagship location. Beyond its impressive sales performance, the store has also cultivated a crucial role as a vibrant community hub for the people of York, regularly hosting a variety of community events and product launches, further integrating itself into the local fabric.

While specific year-end sales figures were not disclosed, Go Outdoors did highlight a remarkable achievement: the York store is its fastest-ever to hit the £1 million sales mark. Carl Harris, the company's Associate Director for Retail, expressed his satisfaction, stating, "Watching the York store thrive over the past year has been incredible. Not only have we created 72 jobs in York, but we have also been visited over 500,000 times by customers - over three-and-a-half times more than any other Go Outdoors store in the same time period.” This underlines the store's considerable impact on both employment and customer engagement.

The superstore boasts an unparalleled selection, featuring over 380 brands, including prominent names like Rab, adidas Terrex, Oakley, and OEX, catering to virtually every outdoor activity imaginable.
