Zara Celebrates 50 Years With A Star-Studded Creative Collaboration
To mark its prestigious 50th anniversary, Zara is launching an extraordinary multi-category collection developed in partnership with fifty globally renowned creatives. This ambitious initiative spans a vast array of industries, bringing together leading figures from the worlds of fashion, music, photography, makeup, and film to celebrate a half-century of the brand's influence.
The impressive roster of collaborators features an eclectic mix of talent, including fashion visionary Pierpaolo Piccioli, music sensation Rosalía, iconic photographers Steven Meisel and David Sims, acclaimed makeup artist Pat McGrath, and renowned filmmakers Pedro Almodóvar and Luca Guadagnino. This diverse lineup underscores Zara's commitment to transcending traditional fashion boundaries and embracing artistic excellence from various domains.
Scheduled for its official debut on October 6, the collection will be available both in select Zara stores and via the brand's e-commerce platform. It boasts a remarkably diverse range of products, from stylish jackets and elegant chairs to covetable bags, practical sleeping bags, and even chic pet accessories. Zara states that this collaboration "perfectly sums up the spirit of the brand and its commitment to working with the best design and creative talent, making that work accessible to many," notably also incorporating the brand's own skilled design team into the collaborative effort.
Marta Ortega Pérez, non-executive chair of Inditex, expressed her profound honor regarding the project: "It is an honor that these artists have chosen to celebrate our anniversary with us in this way." She further highlighted the shared values, adding, "Each of them is a leading figure in their field for their imagination, innovation and integrity. They share the same passions that Zara has had since the beginning: quality and the enjoyment of design."
Each item within the collection is meticulously crafted to "encapsulate the unique spirit of its creator," offering discerning customers a piece of these artists' vision. Noteworthy highlights include an exclusive aviator jacket by legendary photographer David Bailey, a distinctive beanie adorned with badges conceived by stylist Harry Lambert (a frequent Zara collaborator), a luxurious vanity case designed by makeup maestro Pat McGrath, a series of elegant drinking glasses by industrial design icon Marc Newson, and a stylish pet carrier envisioned by photographer Steven Meisel.
