Shahs of Sunset's Mike Shouhed and Paulina Ben-Cohen Reach Agreement Settling Assault Charges

Shahs of Sunset personality Mike Shouhed has reached an agreement with his former fiancée, Paulina Ben-Cohen, leading to the termination of her assault charges, as exclusively reported by Us Weekly.

Court documents filed on September 11 reveal that Ben-Cohen’s legal representatives notified the judiciary of a resolution between the involved parties. Ben-Cohen is set to withdraw the legal action once every condition of their agreement has been fulfilled.

Ben-Cohen indicated her intention to drop the proceedings by December 9. This agreement was finalized just days before Shouhed and Ben-Cohen were scheduled for a trial concerning the legal dispute.

Reza Sina, Shouhed's attorney, conveyed to Us, "We are pleased to have collaborated to conclude this last aspect of these regrettable occurrences and to progress forward."

In March 2024, Ben-Cohen initiated legal proceedings against Shouhed regarding an alleged incident that took place in March 2022. Her legal complaint asserted that Shouhed was responsible for “viciously, brutally, and repeatedly” assaulting and battering her.

Ben-Cohen alleged the supposed assault occurred in their residence while her child was in an adjacent room. She stated that Shouhed began shouting expletives at her and labeled her a "slut." She recounted asking Shouhed to depart the residence, but he declined. According to court documents, Ben-Cohen attempted to gather Shouhed's belongings to compel his exit from the house. She alleged this action resulted in him grasping her hair and "violently" forcing her to the floor.

“While [Ben-Cohen] lay prone on the floor, beneath the clothing rack that had collapsed onto her body subsequent to [Shouhed] violently throwing her down, [Shouhed] leaned over, hit her in the face, and then covered her face with his hand, attempting to suffocate her as she twisted on the ground and fought for air,” Ben-Cohen’s legal counsel detailed in the complaint.

Ben-Cohen presented still images purportedly from security video captured within the dwelling. She asserted that Shouhed proceeded to assault her in a different area of the house. She recounted that he seized her right wrist with his left hand, held her right hand over her mouth, and deprived her of air for six seconds. She stated he pushed her onto a bicycle that was on the ground. Ben-Cohen alleged Shouhed departed and subsequently returned to continue the assault.

Ben-Cohen’s legal filing asserted, “Approximately four minutes after [Shouhed] commenced his sequence of savage and cruel assaults on [Ben-Cohen], this terrifying event at last concluded. [Ben-Cohen] had cried out for the nanny, who was residing in a room across the house while [Shouhed] was assailing and battering her in the playroom, hoping the nanny would perceive her distress and offer assistance.”

“Upon the nanny’s arrival, she requested [Shouhed] to depart and return once composed. This only exacerbated [Shouhed]’s anger, and he declared something to the effect that he would never vacate the house as it was his property. After [Shouhed] ascended to an upper floor to retrieve one of his weapons, law enforcement was contacted, responded to the abode, and apprehended [Shouhed].”

The complaint further alleged Shouhed menaced her by stating he would employ a hitman “who would eliminate her.”

Shouhed refuted every accusation of misconduct. He contended that his former partner’s own conduct precluded her from pursuing compensation. He asserted that any harm she endured stemmed from her own behaviors or from parties other than himself.

Shouhed encountered 13 criminal counts concerning the purported assault but negotiated a plea agreement with legal authorities, thereby escaping incarceration.
